The event not only celebrates the humble pie but also serves to protect and promote regional specialities, recognise the craft of the nation’s bakers and butchers, and support British produce.

At the heart of the awards is a simple yet profound definition: a pie is a filling wholly encased in pastry and baked. This broad definition encompasses a vast array of pie types, each with its unique characteristics and flavours, from the hearty and warming savoury pies to the sweet and comforting dessert pies.
