About Us

Established in 1972 by Bob Evans (hence the B.E) the Company director is Simon Evans with both his sons Luke and Dan now working full time in the business. Kris Hart and Ant Hart complete the management team.

Initially we started out as event organisers ourselves we soon learnt how much pressure organisers are under and the importance of reliable and professional suppliers.  Our team are hardworking and experienced, mostly having been with us for many years and fully understand the industry.

We started the hire business in the early 1980’s with just a small number of wooden folding tables, made initially for our own events. We found our tables very popular due to their sturdy construction and good condition. We believe that the tables we now make are the best in the country and they are used extensively at the most prestigious venues. We have steadily increased our stock and now hold over ten thousand of these tables for hire in various sizes.

Soon we found we were being asked if we could supply other furniture as well as trestle tables. Firstly we introduced polypropylene stacking chairs into our stock but found the transport and storage was not ideal. Next, we introduced the Samsonite folding chair and have found these to be ideal for events. We stock over thirty thousand samsonite style chairs which we supply to a very wide variety of events and venues.

Very soon marquee companies started to use our chair hire for weddings and parties. They often required circular tables for dinning, mostly 5ft diameter tables with upholstered chairs such as banquet chairs and Chiavari chairs so significant quantities of these are also held in stock.

We have been asked to supply a diversity of furniture to a huge variety of events. We have supplied to prime ministers, the Queen at Buckingham Palace and to events at Sandringham. We have sent furniture to events around the world, most recently to Moscow and The Hague.

We have sent tables on cruise ships, we have supplied furniture to diverse and prestigious events such as the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Our furniture can be seen regularly at most of the festivals including Glastonbury, Womad, Cornbury, Towersey, Download, Reading and Leeds as well as many outdoor London events such as winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, plus West End Live and London Pride in Trafalgar Square.

We provide the furniture hire for all the UK MCM Comic Cons and most of the county shows and trade events. We supply ballot counting tables to national and local elections and to exhibition venues such as London ExCeL, Olympia and the NEC.

We are the preferred suppliers to most of the universities in the Midlands for all their Fresher weeks and Open Days as well as graduations ceremony and one off events.

We have found success with quality traditional tried and tested hire furniture in large amounts. For example we can supply over 10,000 traditional 6ft tables, 30,000 folding chairs or 1,000 5ft Diameter tables and even 900 sturdy Picnic Benches.

We stock many other lines including Litedeck Prolyte staging and a parquet dance floor. We have large amounts of aluminium cafe/bistro and bar furniture.

We have accessories such as barrier post and ropes, bar fronts and gown rails, child high chairs  and can even provide your table cloths and cater hire items for crockery, cutlery and glassware and provide all the interiors for dressing rooms and production offices to include mirrors, sofas , plants and lights. We are continually upgrading our stock and adding new lines.

We do not have a minimum order and do not ask for a deposit. Often at Christmas and New Year we hire out one extra table and three or four extra chairs to local households having extended family over for Christmas lunch.

We have always been prepared to sell the tables we manufacture, new or ex-hire. However, as we have grown our purchasing power has increased. We have developed contacts with manufacturers around the world and buy furniture direct from factories by the container. As time has gone on our sales have grown and are now a major part of the business.
